THE STORY
One morning while free diving off Oahu's north shore, I noticed something odd in the distance. As I swam closer, I noticed an octopus nestled among rocks and shells. After further investigation I realized she was collecting shells and bringing them back to her den. This meticulous, clever octopus was guarding her treasures, such as a queen. This encounter impacted me in the days following, I was reminded just how delicate and brief life is. It's my hope that this illustration shines light into life aquatic unknown, and reminds us how special life in the ocean is. The only option is to protect our oceans and everything that calls them home. They don't have a voice but we do. Be mindful with garbage, make intentional purchases, act with empathy. The ocean is magic and it should be cherished for as long as it lives.
